Acrobat- The Glide edition. Limited edition of 15 screenprints on paper.

The Acrobat series of prints started with 3 charcoal drawings of acrobats or dancers holding a pose. One is sat on a hoop looking down, one is gliding across the floor, and the third is dangling on a rope.

For all 3 drawings I imagined that they would be lit from the back by stage spotlights, and wanted the light to curve around their bodies and their movements. I then used halftones to give the impression of the light behind them, dissolving into the darkness around the stage.

Each acrobat is bathed into a spotlight of a different colour, a golden orange, a bright pink and a cool blue, so that the prints work well by themselves but would also work well as a series.
