Do you ever wonder what happens behind closed doors?

In Paris and London, I like nothing more than walking around, taking in the sights. Not looking for monuments or other major attractions, but seeking out the quirks and secrets of the city. From the ever changing street art on the walls to peculiar buildings, from hidden courtyards to barely noticeable roof gardens, there are so many things to look out for as you get lost in a city, even one you know well.

A few weeks ago in Paris, I was stopped in my tracks in a Montmartre street- there was a particular point where buildings seem to pile on top of each others on the hill ahead, one rooftop leading to another and another.

In my print, the buildings and the sky respond to each other in layers of colours. The eye follow the lines of the buildings up toward the sky, only stopping to peer at the lit windows of the central buildings. And then you can’t help but wonder: what is this light doing on?
