Polaroid. Limited edition of 15 screenprints on paper.

2019

Another print which started life as a charcoal drawing. The pose almost mirrors that of Minitel Rose but the back is less arched, and the hands are behind the head, and the subject is of course male.

In this drawing I really liked how the light and shade sculpted the body. I played around digitally a lot with this drawing, trying all sorts of colours and compositions, but in the end I decided to let the drawing speak for itself, and therefore just used a simple halftone for printing, with a plain background.

As for the name, I am not sure exactly why this word stuck in my mind for this picture. Maybe because of the intimacy and singularity of polaroid photos?
