Raymond revue Bar. Limited edition of 10 screenprints on paper.

2018

This print is based on an original photograph I took as part of my neon and sex shop series back in the 90s, except this one was obviously taken in Soho, and not Paris. It was a simple street scene, passer-by and faceless men looking for fun, under the neon glare of the Raymond Revue Bar neon sign.

It was one of the first prints I did, but already the elements that are in a lot of my work were there, people and places disappearing into halftones, bright colours and black accents…

One thing I no longer do though is to include my initials and the year in the print itself, rather than simply signing and numbering it!
